On February 3rd, 2024, Spirit In Motion team members will attend the social dance at Spotlight Ballroom in West Sacramento. Their goal is to dance with as many different people as possible. Friends, family, and community members (like you!) will pledge to donate an amount per dance (like $1-2 per dance), and the final donation amount will depend on the total number of people their SIM member danced with. So, if your SIM member danced with 15 people and you pledged $2 per dance, you’ll donate $30 to SIM! After the event, we’ll follow up with on your pledge with information on how to submit your donation.
Our 2024 Dance Marathon fundraiser will assist us with purchasing and fixing costumes for over forty team members, paying competition entry fees, and maintaining our scholarship fund so we can help team members participate!
We provide our team members with costumes and do not require them to purchase their own. With the money we raise, we would like to purchase new costumes for our team. Outfitting our Leaders and Followers with new costumes would cost around $4000. We hope to debut these new costumes at the San Francisco Open competition in March and the Spotlight Ballroom Spring Showcase in April!
How Do I Donate?
1) First, fill out our online pledge form so we know which Spirit In Motion team member you’re supporting, and so we know who to thank!
2) If you’re donating an amount per dance, we’ll let you know how many people your team member danced with at the Spotlight Ballroom social dance on February 3rd and follow up with your total donation amount.
3) If you’d rather make a one-time flat donation, you can submit your donation now through our GoFundMe campaign! But make sure you fill out the pledge form so we know which SIM member helped raise those funds!

If you can’t donate to our fundraiser, you can help Spirit In Motion dancers raise money by attending the February 3rd social dance at Spotlight Ballroom! More people to dance with means more opportunities to dance and raise money for our team!
